SUMMARY:Hands-on Workshop in Vascular Ultrasound\, Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:The ESVS Academy invites you to Bellvitge University Hospital for the upcoming Hands-on Workshop in Vascular Ultrasound. \n3-5 May 2023 \nJoin our expert faculty: Ramon Vila\, Jonas Eiberg\, Angeles Menéndez Herrrero\, Xavier Marti\,  Begoña Gonzalo\, \nElena Iborra\, Malka Huici Sanchez\, Emma Espinar Garcia\, Gaspar Mestres & Carles Martinez Rico \nCourse confirmed! Please go ahead and book your tickets.\nHands-on Workshop in Vascular Ultrasound\, Barcelona \n \nObjective \nThe course provides a thorough grounding in the clinical skills to work in vascular ultrasound. During the course\, participants are presented an intensive series of short lectures focused on technical aspects of the different US examinations\, covering essentially basic exams but also touching on more advanced topics like the measurement of Pedal Acceleration Time and EVAR follow-up. Two weeks before the course\, participants will have access to the online module that includes a full-length recording of the lectures. This allows a comprehensive coverage of the theory saving time for on-site hands-on. Some topics will be explained while performing the exam live in the same room. \nClassroom teaching is supplemented by sessions at the Vascular Laboratory\, where participants have the opportunity to practice their skills under supervision on patients with relevant disease and on silicone models for US guided puncture. Hands-on sessions last 5 hours each day. (5 participants / 1 tutor / 1 station) \nE-learning module \nBefore attending the course\, participants will have access to an on-line blended learning module that will introduce them to the basic knowledge of ultrasound and the standards of the different examinations. \nThe e-learning module includes:\n• recordings of the presentations of all lectures.\n• a quiz that helps to review basic concepts of US physics\, the anatomy of commonly examined areas and most important diagnostic criteria.\n• a forum open to questions from all participants.\n• a survey about previous US experience that will help us to prepare the groups for the workshop.\nThis preparatory module is intended as a tool to save time in lectures\, allowing more time for hands-on practice. It will open 15 days before the course and close one month after it. Registered participants will receive access instructions before April 21th . \nAccreditation: CME accreditation is being sought for this course. \nParticipants’ qualifications: The workshop is addressed mainly to novice trainees and to those willing to prepare for the CCVUS examination. \nRegistration fee & cancellation policy: The registration fee is €750 for ESVS members and €800 for non-members. It includes course materials\, coffees\, lunches and a course dinner on 3th May. Transport\, accommodation and additional meals are not included. For registration and logistics information please contact the ESVS office: info@esvs.org. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. The final decision of whether the course will be conducted is announced on the website no later than one calendar month before the course starts. Travel and accommodation must therefore not be booked until this message is given – ESVS is not financially responsible if the event has to be cancelled due to low numbers\, in this timeframe.
