DESCRIPTION:Participation in this competition is limited to EVST members\, but all who wish to watch are invited to join. To register for the audience or to compete\, please email info@esvs.org. See below for more details \nBased on the past successes of the EVST Competitions (online)\, EVST invites you to another edition!  \nFaculty:\nProfessor Mauro Gargiulo\, Head of the Department\, IRCCS\, Policlinico S. Orsola Bologna\, Università degli Studi di Bologna\, DIMEC\,\nOthers\, to be confirmed \nModerators:\nPetar Zlatanovic\, Valerija Mosenko\, Ilkin Bakirli\, Gemmi Sufali \nThis competition is designed to enhance and promote knowledge of the management of arterial and venous mesenteric disease from preoperative planning until postoperative patient management (whole spectrum of care). Applicants should have experience in mesenteric artery and venous disease before applying for this competition. \nHow will it work?\nOnce participants have submitted their motivation letter\, they will be invited to complete a quiz. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their motivation letter and quiz score. The three best candidates will be selected and will receive a preselected case with diagnostic CTA to solve. Each selected participant should prepare to present a solution for the proposed case (10 min presentation + 10 min discussion) starting from pre- and postoperative planning\, continuing with procedure itself and finishing with postoperative workup. The case description with all necessary data will be provided beforehand. A jury consisting of faculty and EVST moderators will announce the winner at the end of the competition. \nTarget audience: Participation in this competition is limited to EVST members. Applicants should be familiar with the concept of management of mesenteric arterial and venous disease before applying for this competition. All who wish to join the audience are welcome. \nRegistration:\nRegistration competitors: To apply for this online competition\, please send a very short motivation letter to info@esvs.org. You will receive a link to the online quiz\, which should be completed as soon as possible. Each participant will then be shortlisted based on their letter and the quiz. After shortlisting\, the three top candidates will receive a case including CTAs and baseline clinical characteristics\, which should be used to produce the presentation. The three best applicants will be chosen to participate in the online competition on 12th February. Those invited to compete will be sent a link to make a deposit of 50 euros to hold their space in the competition\, which will be refunded after the event. \nPlease note\, applications will close at midday on 1st February. The shortlisted candidates will be announced on 4th February and cases will be shared at this point. All shortlisted candidates participating in the competition will need to prepare their competition by 10th February. \nAll applicants will be assessed using the following criteria: (1) Online quiz – 40 points (2)  Motivation letter – 30 points (3) Presentation – 30 points\nPre-learning advised: Latest ESVS guidelines on the Management of the Diseases of Mesenteric Arteries and Veins \nRegistration audience: Please email us at info@esvs.org to register to be in the audience! \nPrizes: There will be three prizes for the competition – The first prize is a rotation of 4 weeks in the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences\, University of Bologna! The second and third place prizes are free workshop tickets – to be confirmed which ones. \nPlease be aware that the online session will be recorded and following the session we may use the recording across social media and communication platforms and in our ESVS Library. If you don’t wish to appear on these recordings\, please ensure your camera is switched off prior to the start of the session. \nCancellation policy: We encourage you to let us know as early as possible if you are not able to attend the competition\, to free up a place for someone else. For cancellations received more than 4 days before the event\, the deposit will be refunded\, less an administration fee of 10 EUR. For cancellations received 4 days or less before the event\, no refund of the deposit is possible.
