DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the first of two new courses in the PAD Pathway\, in collaboration with the Zuyderland Medical Centre\, Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery\, Heerlen\, the Netherlands! \nYou will be in the capable hands of:\nDr. Ozan Yazar\, MD\, Phd. – Zuyderland Medical Centre\, Heerlen\, the Netherlands – lead course tutor\n&\nProf. Dr. Lee Bouwman\, MD\, PhD\, course tutor\, Zuyderland Medical Centre\nDrs. Pieter Salemans\, MD\, course tutor\, Zuyderland Medical Centre\nDrs. Ine Rochus\, MD\, Zuyderland Medical Centre. \nObjective: This comprehensive workshop is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their experience in using vascular closure devices (VCDs). We will discuss the fundamental principles of vascular access\, explore the evolution of VCDs\, and gain practical skills through hands-on training. The workshop will cover four types of VCDs (Manta\, Prostyle\, Starclose\, Angioseal)\, offering a nuanced understanding of their applications and limitations. Participants will learn how to assess patients for VCD suitability\, ensuring safe and effective use in various clinical scenarios. Through interactive sessions\, attendees will have the opportunity to practice deploying different VCDs on wet-models\, simulating real-world procedures. We will show how the different VCDs work on live cases. The workshop will also address complications associated with VCDs and provide strategies for their prevention and management. By the end of the workshop\, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently and proficiently incorporate vascular closure devices into their clinical practice\, contributing to improved patient outcomes and procedural efficiency. \nFull Programme \nTarget audience: The course is designed for healthcare professionals performing endovascular procedures. Experience in vascular closures devices is not required. \nPre-learning: \nResource 1\nResource 2\nResource 3\nResource 4 \nCME: CME accreditation is being requested for this course. \nRegistration and Cancellation policy: € 350 for ESVS members and € 450 for non-members. Registration includes course material\, lunch and a dinner. Transport\, accommodation and additional meals are not included. The final decision of whether the course will be conducted is announced on the website no later than one calendar month before the course starts. Travel and accommodation must therefore not be booked until this message is given – ESVS is not financially responsible if the event has to be cancelled due to low numbers\, in this timeframe. For cancellations received by participants more than 20 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. For cancellations received less than 10 days before the event\, no refund is possible. Participants are advised that photographs and video recordings will be going on during the course.
