ENHANCE Open focuses on open repair of infrarenal aortic aneurysms\, and ENHANCE- EVAR focus on basic endovascular aortic repair (EVAR). Both courses are a part of the ESVS Aortic Fellowship Programme. \nThis ENHANCE EVAR programme will have the same structure as the previous ENHANCE-EVAR courses. However\, the device trained on will be different. During this course\, you will practise all cases with one device and it’s recommended to attend the course if you use it in your clinic – please email ciara@esvs.org to find out more. \nJoin: Rebecca Andrea Conradsen Skov\, MD PhD\, Dept. SUMMARY:Endoleak Workshop: Advanced Management Strategies and Hands-On Training - 1st edition!
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with: Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery\, USL TOSCANA CENTRO\, Florence\, Italy\nCourse confirmed! Please go ahead and book your travel and accommodation!\nThis session provides a comprehensive overview of endoleak management\, focusing on the entire process from diagnosis to treatment optimisation. The discussion begins with the identification and classification of endoleaks\, emphasising the use of advanced imaging techniques such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)\, computed tomography angiography (CTA)\, and CO2 angiography to accurately diagnose and characterise the issue. Participants will learn how to evaluate the clinical relevance of an endoleak\, considering factors such as aneurysm sac growth\, patient health\, and the nature of the leak to decide between intervention and observation. The session will then delve into the development of a tailored treatment strategy\, providing a step-by-step guide to selecting the optimal approach based on the type and location of the endoleak. Access routes such as transarterial\, transealing\, translumbar\, and transcaval will be reviewed\, with guidance on how to determine the most appropriate option for each case. Techniques for embolisation will be explored in depth\, including the selection and application of coils\, liquid embolic agents\, and plug devices\, along with strategies for addressing challenging anatomy or persistent leaks. Participants will gain insights into optimising procedural outcomes\, including tips for precision during interventions\, the importance of imaging for real-time guidance\, and protocols for post-treatment monitoring. Applicants should have experience in mesenteric artery and venous disease before applying for this competition. \nHow will it work?\nOnce participants have submitted their motivation letter\, they will be invited to complete a quiz. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their motivation letter and quiz score. The three best candidates will be selected and will receive a preselected case with diagnostic CTA to solve. Each selected participant should prepare to present a solution for the proposed case (10 min presentation + 10 min discussion) starting from pre- and postoperative planning\, continuing with procedure itself and finishing with postoperative workup. SUMMARY:ESVS Viva Voce practice for the FEBVS exam - September 2026
DESCRIPTION:Due to popular demand\, the ESVS Viva Voce practice for the FEBVS exam is back\, with three sessions this year! \nJoin: Sanna Kouhia and Alexander Gratl in the September 2026 edition. \nObjective: The overarching objective of this course is to prepare candidates for some of the different parts of the FEBVS examination. This part of the course prepares candidates for the viva voce section of the examination. \nSmall group viva voce exam practice\, covering FEBVS curriculum topics on vascular disease. The viva voce practice will follow the format of case-based discussion with PowerPoint slides to focus questions and answers. The session is mapped to the FEBVS curriculum and covers a wide range of vascular conditions. Clinical presentation\, pathology\, investigation including imaging and treatment options will be covered during the session. Participants will be split into groups with one member of faculty for each group. Each participant will be asked to manage a clinical scenario for a minimum of 10 minutes under simulated (online) exam conditions whilst the other members of the group observe the discussion. Timings need to be strictly adhered to and will accommodate the number of candidates in each session. The timing of the session will allow for some feedback from the convenors on your performance as well as the chance for candidates to ask any questions. \nOn completion of this section of the course\, as well as assimilating knowledge of lower limb\, carotid\, aortic and venous conditions\, candidates will have a high level of understanding of how to approach answering clinical oral exam questions in an ordered\, organised and logical way. On completion of the course the candidate will have improved their chance of passing the FEBVS examination. \nTarget audience: The course is designed for all vascular surgical trainees who are considering taking professional exams in vascular surgery. \nRegistration and cancellation policy: € 25 for ESVS members and € 30 for non-members. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. Where registration numbers are too low to run the course\, this will be announced on the website no later than 48 hours before the course starts. For cancellations received more than 10 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee of EUR10. For cancellations received less than 10 days before the event\, no refund is possible. Please be aware that the online session will be recorded and following the session we may share snippets of the recording across social media and communication platforms and in our ESVS Library.  If you don’t wish to appear on these recordings\, please ensure your camera is switched off prior to the start of the session. \nCME: CME accreditation is not being sought for this course. \nBECOME A MEMBER TODAY\nFind relevant guidelines and explore the e-library for podcasts\, ESVS journals\, videos\, virtual vascular and more!
