DESCRIPTION:Join: Zoran Rancic\, Konstantinos Donas and Michel Reijnen\n  \nObjective:  This web-based course is designed for physicians with moderate to advanced experience in the endovascular treatment of juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm with the Chimney technique (ChEVAR). It aims to provide a practical and structured approach to patient-selection\, procedural steps and material needs to perform a standardised ChEVAR procedure. The small number of participants will allow for discussions between the faculty and attendees about this technique. After the event\, participants will be able to: \n\nExplain the role of ChEVAR in the treatment of AAA-patients with Hostile Neck anatomies\nClassify patients best suitable for the ChEVAR technique\nIdentify specifics in the planning for a ChEVAR procedure\nDescribe needed material for performing a ChEVAR intervention\nDiscuss procedural steps for performing ChEVAR\nMemorize and discuss current clinical outcomes for ChEVAR\n\nProgramme:\nThe Sealing zone concept  – Where does ChEVAR fit within other treatment-options for challenging aortic anatomies\nEvolution of ChEVAR to EnChEVAR\nIndications and selection criteria  IFU\nCase review to emphasise selection criteria\nHow to achieve good outcomes\nClinical considerations/recommendations \nParticipant qualifications: The course is designed for a moderate to advanced  level of knowledge. \nCertification: CME accreditation is not being sought for this course. \nRegistration and cancellation terms\nESVS members & non-members – Free. A deposit of EUR 60 is required to limit non-attendance and will be returned on course completion. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis. For cancellations received more than 10 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. Clin-Phys.\, Bispebjerg Hospital\, Denmark \nObjective  \nVascular ultrasound is an important imaging modality in vascular surgery. The objective is to teach participants how to perform some of the most basic vascular ultrasound examinations: abdominal aorta\, femoral arteries\, peripheral bypasses\, basic carotid ultrasound\, percutaneous access\, deep venous thromboses and varicose veins. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to practice their skills under supervision during the course. This course corresponds to the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology). Online quizzes and tests will be conducted regularly during the course and the faculty underlines that attendance in the entire course is mandatory in order to receive a course certificate. The course is a first step on the pathway to prepare you well\, for the CCVUS exam at the ESVS Annual Meeting next year in Belfast. \nProgramme \nParticipants’ qualifications \nThe course is designed for vascular surgeons\, vascular surgeons in training and vascular nurses and technologists. No prior ultrasound experience is required but basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected. \nCME \nCME accreditation is not being sought for this course. \nRegistration and cancellation terms \n€ 1000 for ESVS members and € 1200 for non-members. The fee includes course material\, and lunch. Low incidence of this disease impede gaining expertise in treatment. Open repair of PAA is both challenging and controversial since multiple options are available and evidence to support any strategy is scarce. From the diagnostic dilemma of screening to controversial questions of approach (dorsal/medial) and conduit (graft/vein) selection and decision to choose endovascular solution when results are still difficult to compare with invasive open repair. \nThrough interactive case discussion model and voting of the audience experts in this field will guide you through all these controversies and many more\, share with audience their experience\, and openly discuss all arguments used to select treatment strategy in these patients. \nBy attending this course\, participants will know the indications for some specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for given patient. DESCRIPTION:The ESVS Academy invites you to Crowne Plaza hotel in Belgrade\, Serbia for the upcoming Basic Vascular Ultrasound Course. \n1-2 November 2022 \nJoin: Igor Koncar\, Belgrade\, Kim Kargaard Bredahl\, Denmark and others\, to be confirmed. \nObjectives \nVascular ultrasound provides immediate diagnostic\, and may provide clinically important information that cannot be obtained by any other imaging modality. Vascular ultrasound is harmless and can be performed at the bedside. \nThe course is 50% theoretical and 50% hands-on. During the course\, participants will be taught physics and principles behind vascular ultrasound\, ultrasound anatomy and how to perform basic vascular ultrasound examination. This includes abdominal aorta\, femoral arteries\, peripheral bypasses\, basic carotid ultrasound\, deep venous thromboses and varicose veins. Classroom sessions will be followed by hands-on sessions\, where course participants will have the opportunity to practise under supervision on patients with relevant vascular disease. \nThis course corresponds to the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology). Attendance at the entire course is mandatory\, in order to receive a course certificate with your CME points. \nParticipants’ qualifications \nThe course is aimed at vascular surgeons\, vascular residents\, nurses\, technicians\, sonographers taking their first steps. Knowledge of human anatomy is mandatory but prior experience with ultrasound is not required. \nCME and Medtech \nCME accreditation is being requested for this session. \nMedtech accreditation is being requested for this session. DESCRIPTION:A collaboration between: ESVS Academy; Department of Vascular Surgery\, Copenhagen\, Denmark; Copenhagen  Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES)\, Denmark. \n\n“This educational programme focuses on elective endovascular treatment of infrarenal aortic aneurysms (EVAR) and is designed for novices and advanced beginners. The format is mixed e-learning and hands-on training. You will be continuously assessed and will\, if you pass\, be certified according to the validated standards developed and used in Copenhagen”. \n\nJoin: Jonas Eiberg\, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Timothy Resch\, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Michael Strøm\, MD\, PhD; Rebecca Andrea Conradsen Skov\, MD – and other experts \nLearning objective  \nTo obtain technical and non-technical skills in elective infrarenal EVAR\, and make pre-trained novices ready to continue their surgical training in the OR under supervision. \nProgramme description \nENHANCE is a certifying simulation-based educational programme aiming to prepare vascular surgical trainees to perform EVAR on patients with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms. ENHANCE consists of mandatory precourse e-learning and 3 intensive days of hands-on training in Copenhagen. We use high-fidelity simulators and the latest evidence within course design\, assessment and certification. \nParticipants will perform case sizing and planning on 3D-sizing stations and complete several EVAR procedures as surgeons and assistants on virtual reality endovascular simulators. Everything is supervised by highly experienced EVAR surgeons guiding the participants through each step of the EVAR procedure. Trainee to trainer ratio is 2:1\, ensuring intensive learning and feedback. \nPlease note \n\nCompleting and passing a comprehensive ENHANCE e-learning programme is mandatory before hands-on training in Copenhagen. Accepted participants will receive a link for the modular eL program 3-4 weeks before the hands-on sessions in Copenhagen.\nYou will be continuously assessed during the course and will be certified according to the validated standards developed in Copenhagen if you pass.\nWe aim to improve our training through research\, and data collection for such work may be part of ENHANCE. Data collection will be strictly confidential and comply with GDPR and Danish legislation.\nParticipants for ENHANCE will be selected among the applicants based on a survey and interview.\n\nParticipant level \nThe target group is novices and advanced beginners\, typically vascular surgical trainees. Prior basic knowledge of abdominal aortic anatomy is expected. To ensure optimal learning and benefit\, completing an online questionnaire and interview is mandatory before a seat can be given. Schrimpf\, HH Eckstein\, B Rantner\, A Halliday  \nPlease note that this workshop is being postponed until further notice. \nWe apologise for the inconvenience. \nObjective \nAsymtomatic carotid artery Stenosis is a very common vascular disorder based on generalized atherosclerosis within the vascular bed. Treatment of severe carotid artery stenosis is performed to restore patency and reduce stroke risk. Nevertheless\, the procedural risk for disabeling stroke or death is about 1% in CAS and CEA. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. The course will highlight the findings of the ACST II trial based on clinical cases and also highlight current treatment guidelines on carotid artery stenosis. \nDuring this workshop\, each expert will present a case of carotid artery stenosis and the way the patient was treated (max. 8 min/case for a total of 36 min). This will be followed by a discussion of each case in the expert panel and questions from the audience (36 min/ total). At the end\, a summary will be given highlighting the important key points discussed during the session (10 min). \nBy attending this course\, participants will learn\, based on real life clinical cases\, how the findings of the ACST II impact the treatment for asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis. The participants will be able to decide if they are up to date with the latest carotid surgery treatment recommendations and will be able to adjust their treatment accordingly. The WS aims to help practitioners decide to find the most appropriate therapy for their patient.  \nParticipants’ qualifications \nThe Controversial case discussion is designed for every vascular surgeon\, vascular surgeon in training or interventional radiologist\, angiologist or interested general practitioners who deal with asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis during daily practice. A general knowledge of therapies for asymptomatic carotid stenosis is expected. Also experienced surgeons can benefit from this workshop as findings of the ACST II trial and current treatment guidelines in relation to real life clinical cases and treatment strategies will be discussed. Of note: the workshop does not explain how to perform carotid surgery or stenting. \nThe course is open to vascular surgeons\, vascular surgeons in training\, vascular nurses\, angiologists and interventional radiologists as well as technologists from all around the world. \nRegistration fee & cancellation policy \n€ 25 for ESVS members and € 30 for non-members. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. Where registration numbers are too low to run the course\, this will be announced on the website no later than 48 hours before the course starts. For cancellations received by participants more than 10 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee.
