SUMMARY:Hands-on Workshop in Vascular Ultrasound - Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:The ESVS Academy invites you to Bellvitge University Hospital for the upcoming Hands-on Workshop in Vascular Ultrasound. \n4-6 May 2022 \nObjective  \nThe course provides a thorough grounding in the clinical skills to work in vascular ultrasound. \nDuring the course\, participants are presented an intensive series of short lectures focussed on technical aspects of the different US examinations. Lecturers explain the examinations while performing one in the same room on selected patients. \nClassroom teaching is supplemented by sessions at the Vascular Laboratory\, where participants have the opportunity to practice their skills under supervision on patients with relevant disease and on silicone models for  US guided puncture. Hands-on sessions last  5 hours each day. (4 participants /1 tutor/ 1 station) \nE-learning module \nBefore attending the course\, participants will have access to an on-line blended learning module that will introduce them to the basic knowledge of ultrasound and the standards of the different examinations. \nThe e-learning module includes:\n• all presentations of previous editions.\n• a quiz that helps to review basic concepts of US physics\, the anatomy of commonly examined areas and most important diagnostic criteria.\n• a forum open to questions from all participants.\n• a survey about previous US experience that will help us to prepare the groups for the workshop.\nThis preparatory module is intended as a tool to save time in lectures\, allowing more time for hands-on practice. It will open 15 days before the course and close one month after it. Registered participants will receive access instructions before April 20th . \nParticipants’ qualifications \nThe workshop is addressed mainly to novice trainees and to those willing to prepare for the CCVUS examination. \nRegistration fee \nThe registration fee is €750 for ESVS members and €800 for non-members. It includes course materials\, coffees\, lunches and a course dinner on 4th May. DESCRIPTION:EVST invites you to the Aemilia Hotel in Bologna for a special Hands-on Workshop. \n13-14 May 2022 \nJoin: Stefano Ancetti (Italy) Bahaa Arefai (Spain) Enrico Cieri (Italy) Liliana Fidalgo Domingos (Portugal) Enrico Gallitto (Italy) Mauro Gargiulo (Italy) Zoran Rancic (Serbia) Petar Zlatanovic (Serbia) \nObjectives \n\nProvide fundamental knowledge on standard EVAR to trainees going through proximal and distal landing zone evaluation and endograft choice based on anatomical characteristics\nProvide information on each of the most used endograft available on market\nExposure to repeated planning and implant simulations of standard EVAR mentored by renowned European experts in their field\n\nTarget audience: The workshop will be most useful for trainees in the middle part of their training but trainees just starting or finishing their training are are welcome to apply. \nRegistration : Registration is now closed\, as of March 25th. This event\, including reasonable travel expenses\, accommodation\, course materials and all meals\, is offered free of charge. \nThere are just 14 places that are available for EVST members only and as such\, an application procedure will determine which people will benefit the most from the sessions. Your stage of training\, experience with EVAR\, personal motivation\, plan for application of applied knowledge and accessibility to EVAR simulation opportunities will be critical in persuading the review team. As a minimum for your application\, this needs to be evidenced by your CV\, letter of motivation and recommendation letter from the Chief of the department. If selected\, we ask that you secure your place with a €200 deposit that will be returned once you have attended the event. An active EVST registration and Valid Covid Pass are required to apply and take part in the event. \nAccreditation: MedTech accreditation is being requested for this session. \nPhotos: Participants should be aware that photos will be taken during the sessions and may be used by the ESVS in our publicity. \nCancellation policy: We encourage you to let us know as early as possible\, to free up a place for someone else. For cancellations received more than 10 days before the event\, the deposit will be refunded\, less an administration fee of 10 EUR.
