SUMMARY:Endovascular toolkit in arteriovenous fistula dysfunction 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join: Joana Ferreira (vascular surgeon\, Portugal) \, Maarten Snoeijs (Vascular surgeon\, NL)\, Narayan Karunanithy (Interventional radiologist\, UK)\, Roberta Brambilla (vascular surgeon\, UK) \nPlease note\, this course is now confirmed.\nObjective: The aim of this workshop is to give the participants an overview about endovascular tools which can be useful for fistula dysfunction.  Fistulae often require interventions during their lifetime to improve or maintain their function and quality on dialysis. Endovascular techniques are often needed and used by interventional radiologist and vascular surgeons to tackle most common dysfunctions like thrombosis\, stenosis\, pseudoaneurysms\, etc . This course is designed to give participants knowledge that they can use in their daily practice through a description of case scenarios and discussions in between specialists in the field. By attending this course\, participants will know the basic tools to treat fistula dysfunction (stenosis\, thrombosis) and the indications for some specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for a given patient. \nRegistration and cancellation policy: € 25 for ESVS members and € 30 for non-members. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. Where registration numbers are too low to run the course\, this will be announced on the website no later than 48 hours before the course starts. For cancellations received more than 10 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee of EUR10. For cancellations received less than 10 days before the event\, no refund is possible. Please be aware that the online session will be recorded and following the session we may share snippets of the recording across social media and communication platforms and in our ESVS Communications. If you don’t wish to appear on these recordings\, please ensure your camera is switched off prior to the start of the session. \nCME accreditation: To be confirmed. \nBECOME A MEMBER TODAY\nFind relevant guidelines and explore the e-library for podcasts\, ESVS journals\, videos\, virtual vascular and more!

It consists of mandatory pre-course e-learning and 3 intensive days of hands-on training in Copenhagen. We use high-fidelity simulators and the latest evidence within course design\, assessment and certification. Participants will perform case sizing and planning on 3D-sizing stations and complete several EVAR procedures as surgeons and assistants on virtual reality endovascular simulators. Everything is supervised by highly experienced EVAR surgeons guiding the participants through each step of the EVAR procedure. Trainee to trainer ratio is 2:1\, ensuring intensive learning and feedback. During this course EVAR stent graft with infra-renal fixation will be used during the simulated cases. \nThis ENHANCE EVAR programme will have the same structure as the previous ENHANCE-EVAR courses. However\, the device trained on will be different. During this course\, you will practise all cases with one device and it’s recommended to attend the course if you use it in your clinic – please email ciara@esvs.org to find out more. \nLearning objectives: To obtain technical and non-technical skills in elective infrarenal EVAR\, and make pre-trained novices ready to continue their surgical training in the operating room\, under supervision. \nFull Programme \nParticipant level: The course is designed for EVAR novices\, defined as having performed fewer than 5 supervised EVAR-procedures as primary Operator and never having performed an EVAR-procedure independently \nCertification: You will be continuously assessed during the course and will be certified according to the validated standards developed in Copenhagen if you pass. MedTech accreditation is being sought for this event. CME accreditation is not being sought for this event \nPlease note: \n\nCompleting and passing a comprehensive ENHANCE e-learning programme is mandatory before hands-on training in Copenhagen.
