SUMMARY:ESVS Planning and Sizing 2025 - Zagreb
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce a new face-to-face course in the Aortic Pathway\, taking place in Zagreb! \nCourse confirmed! Please go ahead and book your travel and accommodation!\nYou will be in the capable hands of: Zoran Rancic\, Frederico Bastos Goncalves\, Fernando Gallardo\, Predrag Pavic\, Elena Iborra and Damir Haluzan.   \nObjectives: This 2-day workshop is designed to provide gradually more and more advanced knowledge in the field of planning and sizing. Participants will learn about the pathology of abdominal aorta\, important features of abdominal and thoracic aorta (with side branches that determine feasibility of EVAR/TEVAR or require more complex endovascular procedures) and diagnosis (intact AAA or ruptured AAA\, with presence of aorto-cava fistula\, aorto-enteric fistula). For the thoracic aorta pathologies\, focus will be on aneurysm\, but also the PAU (penetrating aortic ulcus) and type B aortic dissection.  All the features as well as hemodynamic instability with arterial hypotension at the moment of CTA\, influence the sizing and planning. All steps of the sizing and planning (necessity of CTA\, arterial access\, proximal\, distal landing zone…) will be discussed\, as well as their importance and role in the process and the consequences of any mistakes that may have occurred. Participants can choose the exact prosthesis for each patient from the various company brochures. Furthermore\, participants will be asked to take anonymised DICOM CTA of any potential EVAR/TEVAR procedure they plan to do with them\, or those who resulted in insufficient treatment\, and discuss with faculty panel. \nFull Programme \n \nTarget audience: Suitable for several different profiles: 1. Vascular Surgery/Interventional Radiology Trainees. 2. Vascular surgeons who do not feel comfortable in sizing and planning or in centres where sizing and planning is done by a company representative. 3. Vascular surgeons who want to deepen their knowledge in specific situations (dissection\, intramural haematoma\, PAU). \nAccreditation: CME and Medtech accreditation are being requested. \nRegistration and Cancellation policy: € 450 for ESVS members and € 580 for non-members. The fee includes course materials\, coffee breaks and lunch as well as a networking dinner on the first evening. Transport\, accommodation and additional meals are not included. SUMMARY:ESVS Viva Voce practice for the FEBVS exam - February 2025
DESCRIPTION:Due to popular demand\, the ESVS Viva Voce practice for the FEBVS exam is back\, with three sessions this year! \nJoin: Sanna Kouhia and Alexander Gratl in the Februrary 2025 edition. \nObjective: The overarching objective of this course is to prepare candidates for some of the different parts of the FEBVS examination. This part of the course prepares candidates for the viva voce section of the examination. \nSmall group viva voce exam practice\, covering FEBVS curriculum topics on vascular disease. The viva voce practice will follow the format of case-based discussion with PowerPoint slides to focus questions and answers. The session is mapped to the FEBVS curriculum and covers a wide range of vascular conditions. Clinical presentation\, pathology\, investigation including imaging and treatment options will be covered during the session. Participants will be split into groups with one member of faculty for each group. Each participant will be asked to manage a clinical scenario for a minimum of 10 minutes under simulated (online) exam conditions whilst the other members of the group observe the discussion. Timings need to be strictly adhered to and will accommodate the number of candidates in each session. The timing of the session will allow for some feedback from the convenors on your performance as well as the chance for candidates to ask any questions. \nOn completion of this section of the course\, as well as assimilating knowledge of lower limb\, carotid\, aortic and venous conditions\, candidates will have a high level of understanding of how to approach answering clinical oral exam questions in an ordered\, organised and logical way. On completion of the course the candidate will have improved their chance of passing the FEBVS examination. \nTarget audience: The course is designed for all vascular surgical trainees who are considering taking professional exams in vascular surgery. \nRegistration and cancellation policy: € 25 for ESVS members and € 30 for non-members. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. SUMMARY:ESVS Management of Central Venous Stenosis and Occlusion in Dialysis
DESCRIPTION:The Academy is delighted to announce a new course in the Dialysis Pathway!\nESVS Management of Central Venous Stenosis and Occlusion in Dialysis  \nYou will be in the capable hands of:\nFlavia Gentile\nRoberta Brambilla\nMatteo Tozzi\nAlexandros Mallios\nFernando Gallardo   \nObjective: Central venous stenosis and occlusions of the major intrathoracic veins (jugular\, subclavian\, brachiocephalic\, superior vena cava) can jeopardise arteriovenous fistula/graft function\, or limit access creation options in end-stage kidney disease. This workshop highlights indications/contraindications\, and management options of central venous occlusion and stenosis in the ESKD patients on HD. \nAs central venous stenosis and occlusion is a more common vascular disorder because of the rising number of patients with end stage renal disease on catheter\, its treatment requires many specialists to be able to deal with this  problem. Thus\, the course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge that will be useful in their daily practice. The course will highlight the indications for some specific methods\, which are the most appropriate for given patients. The eligible cases will be presented\, and a tailored treatment indicated. By attending this course\, participants will know the indications for some specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for a given patient. A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented and highlighted. \nPre-learning: Vascular Access: 2018 Clinical Practice Guidelines of the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ejvs.2018.02.001 \n \nFull programme \nTarget audience: The course is designed for vascular surgeons\, vascular surgeons in training and interventional radiologists in training\, with an intermediate level of knowledge of vascular access \nCME: CME accreditation is being requested for this session. \nRegistration and Cancellation policy: € 25 for ESVS members and € 30 for non-members. Please note that the course is dependent on final registration numbers. Where registration numbers are too low to run the course\, this will be announced on the website no later than 48 hours before the course starts. For cancellations received more than 10 days before the event\, a refund will be given less an administration fee of EUR10. For cancellations received less than 5 days before the event\, no refund is possible.
