ESVS AVF thrombolysis and thrombectomy: treatment strategies

Virtual Event Virtual Event

We are delighted to announce another course on the Vascular Access Pathway: AVF thrombolysis and thrombectomy: treatment strategies You will be guided by: Dr Flavia Gentile Johansson, Dr Anton Razuaev, Dr Maarten Snoeijs, Dr Matteo Tozzi & Dr Fernando Gallardo Objective: Vascular access thrombosis is a very common vascular access complication. Early thrombosis is most often due to an inflow problem and late thrombosis mostly to an outflow stenosis. If left untreated, it results in the fistula failure. Graft thrombosis is most often caused by neointimal hyperplasia. Thrombosis can be also a complication of needling. Treatment options include surgical thrombectomy or an endovascular approach which involves mechanical or pharmacologic thrombolysis. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. It will highlight the indications for a surgical or an endovascular technique, which are the most appropriate for given patients. The eligible cases will be presented, and designed treatment indicated. By attending this course, participants will know the indications for the specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for a given patient. A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented […]
