We are pleased to announce a new course in the Vascular Access Pathway, in collaboration with the Vascular Access Society (VAS)!  Complex vascular access scenarios  Join: Flavia Gentile, Anton Razuaev, Matteo Tozzi, David Shemesh, Roberta Brambilla  Objective The increased survival of patients in dialysis and the gradual increase in the age of uremic patients commencing chronic dialysis raises serious problems for the creation and maintenance of efficient vascular access. In cases in where it is extremely difficult to create arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) using existing upper limb veins, it is possible to resort to vascular grafts, lower limb AVF. Experts in the field will share their experience in particularly challenging situations necessitating complex procedures. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. By attending this course, participants will learn treatment strategies in difficult access scenarios. A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented and highlighted. Target audience: The course is designed for vascular surgeons who are performing vascular access surgery. An intermediate level of knowledge of vascular access is expected. Vascular access strategies in the elderly We are pleased to announce another course in the Vascular Access Pathway, in collaboration with the Vascular Access Society (VAS)!  Join: Flavia Gentile, Joris Rotmans, Matteo Tozzi & Maarten Snoejis  Objective The optimal vascular access for elderly patients remains a challenge, considering their comorbidities, life expectancy, higher risk of central venous catheter infection. Experts in the field will share their experience with regards to dialysis access in this specific population. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. By attending this course, participants will learn treatment strategies in hemodialysis elderly patients . A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented and highlighted. It may be useful for you to read "Vascular Access: 2018 Clinical Practice Guidelines of the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) DOI link" before the session. Target audience: The course is designed for vascular surgeons who are performing vascular access surgery. An intermediate level of knowledge of vascular access is expected.
