EuroThrombosis & EuroVessel Congress

SANA Lisboa Hotel Lisbon, Portugal

An intense three-day scientific programme will update you on basic science, translational medicine and clinical practice in the areas of vascular biology, thrombosis and atherosclerosis. Topics will include coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, atrial fibrillation, stroke, aortic syndromes and cardiovascular prevention. Pharmacotherapy and the use of endovascular devices will form a substantial part of the meeting, updating the clinician in order to guide and encourage optimal day-to-day clinical practice. A significant portion of the meeting will also be dedicated to the presentation of original clinical and translational research in poster format, allowing the exchange of ideas and experience among researchers and clinicians. AVF stent and stent graft

The ESVS Academy invites you to their upcoming workshop: AVF stent and stent graft. Join: Dr Flavia Gentile Johansson, Dr Matteo Tozzi, Dr Fernando Gallardo, Dr Joy Roy Objective Vascular access maintenance often requires the use of stents and stent graft. These can be used in different scenario such as cephalic arch stenosis, recurrent stenosis, exclusion of aneurysms and pseudo aneurysms, repair of pta induced vascular rupture. Stents should be used carefully in order not to jeopardize future secondary fistula creation. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. The course will highland the indications for stent and stent graft placement in vascular access. The eligible cases will be presented, and designed treatment indicated. By attending this course, participants will know the indications for stent and stent graft placement and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for given patient. A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented and highlighted. Participants’ qualifications The course is open to vascular surgeons and vascular surgeons in training who are performing vascular access surgery. An intermediate level of knowledge of vascular access is expected. Registration […]

The ESVS and Copenhagen Certification Programme in Endovascular Aortic Repair – The ENHANCE EVAR Programme

Copenhagen Copenhagen, Denmark

A collaboration between: ESVS Academy; Department of Vascular Surgery, Copenhagen, Denmark; Copenhagen  Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES), Denmark. "This educational programme focuses on elective endovascular treatment of infrarenal aortic aneurysms (EVAR) and is designed for novices and advanced beginners. The format is mixed e-learning and hands-on training. You will be continuously assessed and will, if you pass, be certified according to the validated standards developed and used in Copenhagen". Join: Jonas Eiberg, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Timothy Resch, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Michael Strøm, MD, PhD; Rebecca Andrea Conradsen Skov, MD - and other experts Learning objective To obtain technical and non-technical skills in elective infrarenal EVAR, and make pre-trained novices ready to continue their surgical training in the OR under supervision. Programme description ENHANCE is a certifying simulation-based educational programme aiming to prepare vascular surgical trainees to perform EVAR on patients with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms. ENHANCE consists of mandatory precourse e-learning and 3 intensive days of hands-on training in Copenhagen. We use high-fidelity simulators and the latest evidence within course design, assessment and certification. Participants will perform case sizing and planning on 3D-sizing stations and complete several EVAR procedures as surgeons and assistants on virtual reality endovascular […]
