Objectives Vascular ultrasound provides immediate diagnostic, and may provide clinically important information that cannot be obtained by any other imaging modality. Vascular ultrasound is harmless and can be performed at the bedside. The course is 50% theoretical and 50% hands-on. During the course, participants will be taught physics and principles behind vascular ultrasound, ultrasound anatomy and how to perform basic vascular ultrasound examination. This includes abdominal aorta, femoral arteries, peripheral bypasses, basic carotid ultrasound, deep venous thromboses and varicose veins. Classroom sessions will be followed by hands-on sessions, where course participants will have the opportunity to practise under supervision on patients with relevant vascular disease. This course corresponds to the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology).
