How to tailor the treatment for the patients with superficial venous disease upon 2022 ESVS guidelines

Already have basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology?  Then here is your chance to advance your skills in a course designed for vascular surgeons and vascular surgeons in training.  The ESVS Academy invites you to their upcoming workshop: How to tailor the treatment for the patients with superficial venous disease upon 2022 ESVS guidelines. Join: Adam ZieliÅ„ski, Jose Hipola, Sergio Gianesini, MichaÅ‚ Stanisic Objective As chronic veins disease is a very common vascular disorder, its treatment requires many specialists to be able to maintain the problem. It seems that there is a lack of vascular surgeons treating venous pathologies. Thus the course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. As the pool of phlebological patients is very wide and many treatment modalities can be utilised, the course will highlight the indications for some specific methods, which are the most appropriate for given patients. Due to the fact that new ESVS clinical practice guidelines on the management of chronic venous disease of the lower limbs were published in 2022, there is a need to update the knowledge to improve treatment efficiency. Join: Dr Flavia Gentile Johansson, Dr Matteo Tozzi, Dr Fernando Gallardo, Dr Joy Roy Objective Vascular access maintenance often requires the use of stents and stent graft. These can be used in different scenario such as cephalic arch stenosis, recurrent stenosis, exclusion of aneurysms and pseudo aneurysms, repair of pta induced vascular rupture. Stents should be used carefully in order not to jeopardize future secondary fistula creation. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. The course will highland the indications for stent and stent graft placement in vascular access. The eligible cases will be presented, and designed treatment indicated. By attending this course, participants will know the indications for stent and stent graft placement and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for given patient. A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented and highlighted. "This educational programme focuses on elective endovascular treatment of infrarenal aortic aneurysms (EVAR) and is designed for novices and advanced beginners. The format is mixed e-learning and hands-on training. You will be continuously assessed and will, if you pass, be certified according to the validated standards developed and used in Copenhagen". Join: Jonas Eiberg, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Timothy Resch, Professor of Vascular Surgery; Michael Strøm, MD, PhD; Rebecca Andrea Conradsen Skov, MD - and other experts Learning objective To obtain technical and non-technical skills in elective infrarenal EVAR, and make pre-trained novices ready to continue their surgical training in the OR under supervision. Programme description ENHANCE is a certifying simulation-based educational programme aiming to prepare vascular surgical trainees to perform EVAR on patients with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms. ENHANCE consists of mandatory precourse e-learning and 3 intensive days of hands-on training in Copenhagen. We use high-fidelity simulators and the latest evidence within course design, assessment and certification. Participants will perform case sizing and planning on 3D-sizing stations and complete several EVAR procedures as surgeons and assistants on virtual reality endovascular […]
