Basic Course in Vascular Ultrasound

The ESVS Academy and the Department of Vascular Surgery, Rigshospitalet, Denmark invite you to the upcoming Basic Course in Vascular Ultrasound. 27, 28 and 29 January 2022 Objective Vascular ultrasound is an important imaging modality in vascular surgery. The objective with this course is to teach the participants to be able to perform some of the most basic vascular ultrasound examinations: abdominal aorta, femoral arteries, peripheral bypasses, basic carotid ultrasound, percutaneous access, deep venous thromboses and varicose veins. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills under supervision during the course. This course corresponds to the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology). Online quizzes and tests will be conducted regularly during the course and the faculty underlines that attendance in the entire course is mandatory in order to receive course certificate and CME points. Participants’ qualifications The course is designed for vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training and vascular nurses and technologist. No prior ultrasound experience is required but basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected. Registration fee € 1050 for ESVS members and € 1200 for non-members. PAD Pathways : Basic PAD endovascular toolkit workshop

The PAD Academy Pathway continues ...  27th January (17:00-19:00) Trainees are often daunted by the wide array of unfamiliar kits required to perform endovascular procedures. This workshop aims to introduce candidates to the basic endovascular toolkit (incl. wires, catheters, balloons, stents…) required for peripheral interventions and familiarise them in a friendly, interactive environment, with the opportunity to ask and discuss anything in regards to endovascular tools with the expert faculty. Join Michel Bosiers (St Franziskus-Hospital, Münster) and Stefano Fazzini.   Intended audience: The course is designed for (endo)vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training. Basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected. Registration is OPEN. Course fees : 25€ ESVS Members, 30€ Non-members Cancellation policy: For cancellations received more than 5 days before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. Vascular Access Pathways : Preserving the AVF: steal syndrome, high flow, aneurysm

Virtual Event Virtual Event

We introduce the first session in our brand new Vascular Access Academy Pathway  7th April (18:00-20:00) Join Flavia Gentile, Joris Rotmans, Matteo Tozzi, Roberta Brambilla and Anton Razuvaev Steal syndrome, high flow and aneurysm are common complications responsible of vascular access dysfunction. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice in order to preserve the dialysis vascular access. Different treatment modalities can be utilised, the course will highlight the indications for some specific methods, which are the most appropriate for given patients. The eligible cases will be presented, and designed treatment indicated. By attending this course, participants will know how to deal with these common vascular access complications in order to preserve a functional access. They will learn the indications for some specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for given patient. A thought that there is no unique and perfect treatment modality for each patient will be presented and highlighted. Registration IS OPEN! Course fees : 25€ ESVS Members, 30€ Non-members Cancellation policy: For cancellations received more than 5 days before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR. […]

Vascular Access Pathways : AVF thrombolysis and thrombectomy – treatment strategies

Virtual Event Virtual Event

What is next on the Vascular Access Academy Pathway ? 21st April (18:00-20:00) Join Flavia Gentile, Joris Rotmans, Matteo Tozzi, Roberta Brambilla and Anton Razuvaev Vascular access thrombosis is a very common vascular access complication. Early thrombosis most often due to an inflow problem and late thrombosis mostly to an outflow stenosis. If left untreated, it results in the fistula failure. Graft thrombosis is most often caused by neointimal hyperplasia. Thrombosis can be also a complication of needling. Treatment options include surgical thrombectomy or an endovascular approach which involves mechanical or pharmacologic thrombolysis. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice. The course will highlight the indications for a surgical or an endovascular technique, which are the most appropriate for given patients. The eligible cases will be presented, and designed treatment indicated. The course is designed for vascular surgeons who are performing vascular access surgery. An intermediate level of knowledge of vascular access is expected. Registration IS OPEN! Course fees : 25€ ESVS Members, 30€ Non-members Cancellation policy: For cancellations received more than 5 days before the event, a refund will be given less an administration fee of 10 EUR.
