PAD Pathways : Endovascular treatment of below the knee pathology – tips and tricks

The first ESVS Academy session of 2022 20th January (18:00-20:00)   This workshop will provide information about advanced tips and tricks when performing endovascular procedures on arteries below the knee. Convenors will describe indications for revascularisation and optimal patient selection, techniques step by step from the approach to the treatment. Importantly, the limited number of attendees will allow for an interactive session, to discuss clinical cases between the speakers and the audience. Yann GOUËFFIC and Alessandro COSTANZO look forward to seeing you.     Intended audience: The course is designed for physicians that already performing endovascular interventions on peripheral arteries on femoro popliteal segment and would like to expand their field of treatment or for those that are already performing interventions below the knee and are seeking for tips. Basic Course in Vascular Ultrasound

The ESVS Academy and the Department of Vascular Surgery, Rigshospitalet, Denmark invite you to the upcoming Basic Course in Vascular Ultrasound. 27, 28 and 29 January 2022 Objective Vascular ultrasound is an important imaging modality in vascular surgery. The objective with this course is to teach the participants to be able to perform some of the most basic vascular ultrasound examinations: abdominal aorta, femoral arteries, peripheral bypasses, basic carotid ultrasound, percutaneous access, deep venous thromboses and varicose veins. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills under supervision during the course. This course corresponds to the curriculum of the theoretical part of EFSUMB Level 1 in Vascular Ultrasound (European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology). Online quizzes and tests will be conducted regularly during the course and the faculty underlines that attendance in the entire course is mandatory in order to receive course certificate and CME points. Participants’ qualifications The course is designed for vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training and vascular nurses and technologist. PAD Pathways : Basic PAD endovascular toolkit workshop

The PAD Academy Pathway continues ...  27th January (17:00-19:00) Trainees are often daunted by the wide array of unfamiliar kits required to perform endovascular procedures. This workshop aims to introduce candidates to the basic endovascular toolkit (incl. wires, catheters, balloons, stents…) required for peripheral interventions and familiarise them in a friendly, interactive environment, with the opportunity to ask and discuss anything in regards to endovascular tools with the expert faculty. Join Michel Bosiers (St Franziskus-Hospital, Münster) and Stefano Fazzini.   Intended audience: The course is designed for (endo)vascular surgeons, vascular surgeons in training. Basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology is expected. Registration is OPEN. We introduce the first session in our brand new Vascular Access Academy Pathway  7th April (18:00-20:00) Join Flavia Gentile, Joris Rotmans, Matteo Tozzi, Roberta Brambilla and Anton Razuvaev Steal syndrome, high flow and aneurysm are common complications responsible of vascular access dysfunction. The course is designed to give the participants wider knowledge useful in their daily practice in order to preserve the dialysis vascular access. Different treatment modalities can be utilised, the course will highlight the indications for some specific methods, which are the most appropriate for given patients. The eligible cases will be presented, and designed treatment indicated. By attending this course, participants will know how to deal with these common vascular access complications in order to preserve a functional access. They will learn the indications for some specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for given patient.
