Endoleak Workshop: Advanced Management Strategies and Hands-On Training – 1st edition!

The Social Hub Florence Belfiore 55 Viale Belfiore, Florence, Italy

In collaboration with: Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, USL TOSCANA CENTRO, Florence, Italy Course confirmed! Please go ahead and book your travel and accommodation! This session provides a comprehensive overview of endoleak management, focusing on the entire process from diagnosis to treatment optimisation. The discussion begins with the identification and classification of endoleaks, emphasising the use of advanced imaging techniques such as contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), computed tomography angiography (CTA), and CO2 angiography to accurately diagnose and characterise the issue. Participants will learn how to evaluate the clinical relevance of an endoleak, considering factors such as aneurysm sac growth, patient health, and the nature of the leak to decide between intervention and observation. The session will then delve into the development of a tailored treatment strategy, providing a step-by-step guide to selecting the optimal approach based on the type and location of the endoleak. Access routes such as transarterial, transealing, translumbar, and transcaval will be reviewed, with guidance on how to determine the most appropriate option for each case. Techniques for embolisation will be explored in depth, including the selection and application of coils, liquid embolic agents, and plug devices, along with strategies for addressing challenging anatomy or persistent leaks. Participants will gain insights […]

Endovascular toolkit in arteriovenous fistula dysfunction 2026

Join: Joana Ferreira (vascular surgeon, Portugal) , Maarten Snoeijs (Vascular surgeon, NL), Narayan Karunanithy (Interventional radiologist, UK), Roberta Brambilla (vascular surgeon, UK) Please note, this course is now confirmed. Objective: The aim of this workshop is to give the participants an overview about endovascular tools which can be useful for fistula dysfunction.  Fistulae often require interventions during their lifetime to improve or maintain their function and quality on dialysis. Endovascular techniques are often needed and used by interventional radiologist and vascular surgeons to tackle most common dysfunctions like thrombosis, stenosis, pseudoaneurysms, etc . This course is designed to give participants knowledge that they can use in their daily practice through a description of case scenarios and discussions in between specialists in the field. By attending this course, participants will know the basic tools to treat fistula dysfunction (stenosis, thrombosis) and the indications for some specific treatment modalities and be able to decide if they are the most appropriate for a given patient.
